Original Idea
I made a rough sketch of what I wanted the final product to look like before I made it in Inventor. This was only a starting point but it still resembles a phone stand. The only idea I had when starting was that I wanted it to be more of a cylinder shape than a rectangle.
The Processes
I started by making a cylinder in Inventor.
I added a rectangle at the bottom so that it would lay flat.
I cut out a notch for the power cord to go through.
I cut out a divot so the phone would balance in the stand.
I cut the cylinder part of the angle so the phone could lean easily.
I added another cylinder to make sure that there wouldn't be any weird angles that might not print correctly and make the overall shape make more sense.
I then set up the design in maker bot and printed it.
The next day I came in and picked up the finished print.

Conclusion
This project taught me that is sometimes better to start over completely than to make a project that isn't that exciting. I ended up redoing this entire project and even changing what my end products use was. This gave me a result that I was much more excited about than what my original idea was and I was able to make a design that was more original.
